POSITION: Seamstress / Fabric Artist
DEPARTMENT: Scenic Studio / Soft Goods
Summary:
The seamstresses/fabric artist's primary role is to fabricate various scenic soft good elements as directed by our designers, art directors, production managers, shop General Manger and the Soft Goods Floor Manager.
Accountabilities:
Strong experience and seamstress skills
Working within a team of soft goods specialists, delivering unique and interesting projects in a deadline driven environment. Will work under the Scenic Studio’s Soft Goods Floor Manager and the Scenic Studio General Manager, yet must interface with the entire design team and production managers.
Requirements:
- Must be an experienced and proficient seamstress
- Be able to work under to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work well with and take direction from our creative designers
- Possess a strong understanding of sewing techniques and demands of large-scale projects.

POSITION: Draftsperson
DEPARTMENT: Design
Summary:
The Draftsperson’s primary responsibility is to closely work with and support Atomic’s team of scenic designers, art directors and production managers.
Accountabilities:
Strong, focused drafting skills in VectorWorks
Specializing in event layout, ground plans and shop drawings of specific elements, working side-by-side with Atomic’s scenic designers, art directors and production managers, focusing on understanding the projects and preparing the necessary drawings to execute them.
Requirements:
MUST be able to work well with and take direction from our creative designers and possess a strong understanding of scenic sets, event environments and ground plan layouts.
- MUST be proficient in drawing to scale, perspective, and similar working environments in VectorWorks
- MFA grad or 2-3 years of above stated experience
- Photoshop, other 3d CAD programs, etc. a plus

POSITION: Art Director / Production Manager
DEPARTMENT: Design
Summary:
The Production Manager’s primary focus is to oversee and manage projects through the Scenic Studio, being the interface between clients needs, generally through the Account Mangers and Scenic Designers, and Atomic’s capabilities, ensuring the delivery of a top quality product, on time and on budget.
Accountabilities:
Drafting
- Must have experience with drawing event layouts, ground plans and preparing shop drawings of specific elements in VectorWorks
Production Management
- Oversee existing projects to ensure Atomic delivers a top quality product, on time and on budget
- Become a strategic partner with the account managers, designers and scenic studio team, by delivering measurable results and solutions
- Leverage Atomic resources and best practices to deliver fully integrated services
- Maintain long-term relationships with key buyers, even through inactive periods
- Continually collect and disseminate market and competitive intelligence
- Continually monitor and deliver quality workmanship
New Business
- Identify client needs and provide appropriate Atomic solutions
- Assist efforts to secure new business within existing accounts
- Assist in developing new Atomic capabilities
Requirements:
- Experience managing event productions
- Ability to read various ground plans, working drawings, shop plans and blue prints
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- The ability to meet deadlines, maintain budgets and deliver projects
- MUST be proficient in drawing to scale, perspective, and similar working environments in VectorWorks

POSITION: Scenic Designer / Art Director
DEPARTMENT: Design
Summary:
The Scenic Designer’s primary focus is to prepare designs, sketches, renderings, layouts and ground plans for clients, generally through the Account Mangers, and prepare shop drawings for Production Managers and the Scenic Studio.
Accountabilities:
Design
- Create designs to met client needs, through the account mangers
- Become a strategic partner with the account and production managers, by delivering measurable results and solutions
- Leverage Atomic resources and best practices to deliver fully integrated services
- Maintain long-term relationships with key clients, even through inactive periods
- Continually collect and disseminate market and competitive intelligence
- Stay creative, yet deliver within a business model
- Work closely with the Production Managers, the Scenic Studio GM, the Shop Foreman and the Soft Goods Foreperson
Drafting
- Must have experience with drawing event layouts, ground plans and preparing shop drawings of specific elements in VectorWorks
New Business
- Identify client needs and provide appropriate Atomic solutions
- Assist Account Managers efforts to secure new business within existing accounts
- Assist Account Managers in developing new Atomic capabilities
Planning
- Develop plans to manage and improve the performance and efficiencies of the scenic studio and define approaches for realizing them
Requirements:
- Set and/or production design experience
- Strong understanding of production events and the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to create various sketches, renderings, ground plans, working drawings, shop plans and blue prints
- Strong creative skills
