Atomic Design Sets the Stage for Michael Buble

Lititz, Pa. - When it comes to the production of his 2007 "Call Me Irresponsible" tour, Michael Buble is anything but irresponsible. The fast-rising star stepped up the production of his U.S. and European tour with a crisp and dramatic stage designed by Lighting and Production Designer Kurt Wagner, with scenic direction by Tom McPhillips of Atomic Design.

The drama of the stage comes from seven custom Soft-LED frames that pivot to create a myriad of looks throughout the production. McPhillips and Wagner worked closely with Main Light Industries Inc. to fabricate the Soft-LED panels, which are stretched onto aluminum frames making them incredibly durable and lightweight for ease of transport.

During the show, the Soft-LEDs are spun to reveal a beautiful "Cell Cloth" backdrop designed by McPhillips. McPhillips says, "The Cell Cloth has always been a staple of the soft goods collection at Atomic Design, but for Buble, I created a dramatic, yet romantic feel by using a shimming metallic-like fabric. It creates an infinite number of lighting possibilities, which Wagner utilizes so well."

Michael Buble's "Call Me Irresponsible" tour kicked off in Reno, Nevada on July 12, 2007 and will hit more than 50 U.S. and European cities before ending on December 4, 2007. The "Call Me Irresponsible" album debuted in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Traditional Jazz chart in May 2007.
