Atomic Design Creates an Intimate Setting For The 2007 AIPAC Policy Conference

Lititz, Pa. - For the second year in a row, Viva Productions called upon Atomic Design to create an intimate atmosphere for the 2007 AIPAC Policy Conference on March 2, 3 and 4. Nearly 6,000 guests gathered at the Washington Convention Center to support The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and hear speakers such as Vice President Dick Cheney, Speaker of The House, Nancy Pelosi, and Senator Barack Obama.

Lorne Green, of Viva Productions, approached Atomic Design in 2006 to create a new perspective on the event - one that exuded a less-staid, more-exciting vibe for the conference. With more than 1,000 college and university students in attendance, Atomic's goal was to create a fresh, updated atmosphere that would appeal to broad spanning demographic.

With the main conference area sized at 600' x 200' wide, Atomic's challenge was to transform the room into an intimate space, where each of the 6,000 guests would be able to see the speakers and participate in the event. In addition, the décor needed to work well for television, knowing the event was broadcast nationwide.

The results: Atomic designed a textured, white grid of 400 Wafer Walls to flank the central stage and two large projection surfaces. Projection screens, fabricated from four segment fabric columns and bowed PVC, were hung on the stage and around the room amidst 1,200 Pillow Walls. The screens created depth in the room and provided a space to project branding, video and ambient lighting during both the business and dinner portions of the event.
